The Chamber, in collaboration with the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation will host Hancock County Safety Council, featuring a presentation titled “Making it Safe to Talk About Safety” on Thursday, June 2, 2021 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. This webinar costs $10 to attend.

The main speaker is Dave Tippet, Director of On-Site Learning & Consultation for the Employers’ Association. Safety rules by themselves do not keep people safe. Employees have to have the tools to feel safe enough to report unsafe situations and practices without fear of being judged or even ignored. Attendees will learn how to teach employees to speak up when they see a problem, how to teach employees to hold each other accountable for safety, and how to build a year-round culture of accountability.

Dave is well-known for his enthusiasm, training creativity and commitment to helping people work better, together. Before coming to the Employers’ Association, he worked and trained for a large healthcare organization. Before then, Dave was a Human Resources Director in Toledo, OH for ten years. Dave has provided training for such area companies as Okamoto, Bellevue Hospital, Campbell Soup, Cooper Tire, Whirlpool, General Motors, Libbey, Inc., Spangler Candy, Sauder Woodworking, and many, many more. He is Past President of two area HR chapters, served a Co-Chair for three large regional HR conferences, is a published and award winning playwright, author, speaker, above average husband and father to several “fur children” (dog and 2 cats). Dave and his wife, Jill, make their home in Gibsonburg, OH. Dave is a graduate of the University of Toledo and holds a Professional Human Resources certification from HRCI and from the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM).

The Hancock County Safety Council is co-sponsored by the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Safety & Hygiene Division, and holds regular meetings to increase awareness of a safe environment in the workplace
