County Fair Chamber Buyer’s Group

With the summer heat, the rain-soaked spring may seem like a distant memory for a lot of us. However for those in the agriculture industry that’s not the case. The wet weather kept many farmers from planting their fields, and the ripple effect from that will be larger than you might think. Fortunately, there are several ways we can help the agricultural community during this time.

One way you can pitch in is by supporting the Hancock County Fair Junior Fair Livestock Auction. The Findlay-Hancock County Chamber of Commerce Agri-Business Committee is putting together a buyer’s group of members to bid on animals during the fair’s signature event.

What does this mean? By pooling together resources from several businesses and organizations we can bid on animals raised by the hard-working junior fair members in Hancock County. The money they receive helps them pay for the animals to bring to future fairs, equipment to help raise their animals, and set aside money for college.

Typically businesses in the agricultural sector bid during that auction, but many have indicated they’ll have to pull back their involvement this year.

Donations are tax-deductible. If you donate $100 or more your business or organization will receive recognition during the junior fair any time the Chamber group wins an auction. We’ll have a representative on hand to handle the bidding for our group, so you don’t need to attend the auction if you have Labor Day plans. It’s a great way to support the area agricultural community and get involved with the Hancock County Fair at the same time.

Thank you for your support of the Hancock County agricultural community!
