Hancock Leadership Class of 2021 Class Project:  History Walk at Brucklacher Memorial Park

Hancock Leadership is a nationally recognized seminar program designed to develop and cultivate all people with a passion to serve our community through a dynamic learning experience that encourages self-discovery, fosters relationships, and inspires stewardship.  One of the primary activities of each HL class is to complete a community-oriented service project.

The Hancock Leadership Class of 2021 is partnering with the Hancock County Historical Museum and the Kiwanis Club of Findlay to create a History Walk. This project will create an educational destination for residents and visitors to our area alike and will showcase significant events of the rich history of Findlay and Hancock County. Meet the HL Class of 2021.

The History Walk will enhance the educational and recreational aspects of the Brucklacher Memorial Park, which includes the Little Red School House and a playground built by the Kiwanis Club of Findlay, a community park serving more than 1000 school children, more than 500 neighborhood children, and numerous families in the Findlay/Hancock County area.  The educational display will have different “stations,” featuring notable events in the history of Findlay and Hancock County, with content that will be changed periodically to keep the experience “fresh” for return visitors.  The HL Class of 2021 will be responsible for securing funding for the project, completing the layout and construction of the path and stations, landscaping, and installing donor recognition displays.

If you’d like to contribute to this family-friendly learning destination, please submit your tax-deductible donation to The Chamber Foundation at 123 E. Main Cross Street, Findlay, OH, 45840, or online here.  The project is forecasted to be completed this summer.
