Chamber Hosting Annual Golf Tournament

The Chamber will host its Annual Golf Tournament at the Findlay Country Club on Monday, August 23, 2021. John Haywood will be recognized as the honorary chairman during the event.

“It is with great pleasure that we recognize John Haywood for his commitment to advancing our community, as well as his influence and guidance of The Alliance over the last decade,” said Dionne Neubauer, Director, Chamber of Commerce.

John Haywood has served as President and CEO of the Findlay-Hancock County Alliance since 2011. John began his relationship with the Chamber and Economic Development twenty years ago, serving on both advisory boards. Haywood had previously retired as Findlay Division Vice President of Whirlpool, with which he had worked for twenty-four years. Prior to Whirlpool, John had served as Director of Production & Distribution for Hickory Farms.

In addition to his work with The Alliance and Whirlpool, Haywood has been a key member of several service organizations, advisory boards, and committees. He has served as a member of the University of Findlay Board of Trustees for twenty-one years, and has been a member of the UF Business Affairs Committee and the UF Athletic Committee, where he served as chair, and co-chair of the Academic Affairs Committee. John has served on the 50 North board for nine years of which three of those years he led as President.  He’s also served on the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation Finance & Investment Committee for twenty years. Additionally, he’s an active member of Findlay Rotary; served in the past as a United Way of Hancock County Community Chair; was involved with the Northwest Ohio Flood Mitigation Partnership and Blanchard Valley Health System Board.

Haywood earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Math from Bowling Green State University (BGSU) in 1978, and a Master of Business Administration from BGSU in 1987.

John has been married to his wife, Patti, for forty-three years. They have two sons, Eric and Griffin, and three grandsons

Proceeds from the outing will be used to advance the Chamber’s pro-business agenda through educational and leadership development programming.
