Who are all the people in the red suit jackets? They’re the Chamber Ambassadors, better known as the Red Coats. This outgoing group of business professionals serve as brand ambassadors for the Chamber and serve as volunteers to celebrate the business community. You’ll primarily find them at grand opening celebrations, usually with a red ribbon, a giant pair of scissors in tow, and of course, dressed in their distinctive red suit jackets.

The Chamber Ambassadors volunteer their time by attending ribbon cuttings for grand openings, business anniversaries and other special events. During these events the Ambassadors meet with Chamber members. Their goal is to increase membership by providing a welcoming and open atmosphere for new and existing members. The Ambassadors typically attend an average of five ribbon cuttings per month. Last year, the Ambassadors participated in over 50 events!

Not only does the Chamber benefit from its Ambassadors, but the Ambassadors benefit as well. Here are just a few of those benefits:

The Ambassadors are a long-standing group that have been associated with the Chamber for many years. Two of its longest-serving volunteers are Sharinda Welton and Burr Young. Both have been Chamber Ambassadors for over 20 years.
