New Workplace Safety Standards

The Chamber, in collaboration with the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation will host Hancock County Safety Council, featuring a presentation titled “What COVID Taught Us: New Standards for Navigating Workplace Safety” on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. This webinar costs $10 to attend.

The main speaker is Donald D. Elswick, CIH, CSP, CHMM, CIT with ELSMART Associates, LLC. Donald has more than 30 years of government and multi-industry experience, holding several senior positions in Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) organizations. He is currently the Executive Director, University of Alabama (UA) SafeState, Division of Industrial and Environmental Programs, which provides vision and leadership for environmental safety and health outreach activities for the University, in partnership with groups, individuals, employers, and agencies external to UA. Don has supported oversight of the implementation of companies EHS policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and practices in government operations, chemical industry, high-speed manufacturing, and food industry. He is on the Board of Directors of the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienist (ACGIH), a member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), and member of education committee for American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP). Don retired as a Commander (CDR) in the United States Navy serving as a Medical Service Corps Officer.

The Hancock County Safety Council is co-sponsored by the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Safety & Hygiene Division and holds regular meetings to increase awareness of a safe environment in the workplace.
